Nigeria’s Dangote refinery, the world’s largest single-train facility with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has temporarily shut down a key gasoline-producing unit following technical issues. According to industry sources, the 204,000 bpd Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (RFCCU) was taken offline around August 29 due to catalyst leaks and other complications. Repairs are expected to take at least two weeks.

The shutdown comes as the refinery rapidly expands operations, reshaping global oil and fuel trade since its launch last year. Its first gasoline exports to the United States are expected to arrive in New York later this month, ship-tracking data shows.
