CountryMark’s refinery in southwestern Indiana is set to embrace a cleaner energy future with the adoption of Topsoe’s HydroFlex® technology. Currently processing 35,000 barrels of crude oil per day, the facility will soon be able to produce up to 250,000 barrels of renewable diesel annually, using locally sourced soybean oil as its primary feedstock.

This initiative is expected to deliver a significant environmental impact, avoiding 84,500 tons of CO₂ emissions each year the equivalent of removing more than 186,000 trucking roundtrips between Indianapolis and Washington, D.C. By leveraging agricultural resources from Indiana, CountryMark is building a locally sourced renewable fuel economy that benefits both farmers and fuel consumers.

Topsoe’s HydroFlex®, proven since 2010 in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, offers a scalable solution for reducing emissions in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy transport and aviation. With U.S. renewable diesel demand hitting 3.1 billion gallons in 2023, now accounting for over 5% of the diesel market, adoption is set to grow rapidly.

Through this partnership, CountryMark and Topsoe are not only strengthening local agriculture and refining assets but also advancing America’s low-carbon energy future with practical, commercially viable clean fuel technology.
