ExxonMobil has awarded Worley a significant engineering and project management contract to execute major upgrades at its Baytown integrated complex in Texas, one of the largest refining and petrochemical facilities in the United States. The modernization program aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce emissions, and strengthen ExxonMobil’s long-term competitiveness in cleaner fuel and chemical production.

Under the new agreement, Worley will deliver front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed engineering services focused on optimizing process units, improving energy integration, and deploying advanced digital monitoring solutions. The project underscores ExxonMobil’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for more sustainable and efficient refining operations.

The Baytown complex, which produces fuels, lubricants, and high-value chemicals, is a cornerstone of ExxonMobil’s U.S. downstream and chemical business. The upgrades are expected to lower the facility’s carbon intensity and improve overall reliability, aligning with the company’s decarbonization roadmap and global demand for lower-emission energy solutions.

This collaboration marks another milestone in ExxonMobil’s transition toward a more resilient and sustainable refining portfolio.
